Peterborough, ON – Organizers of the 174th Peterborough Ex are calling it a success with attendance up over 10% from last year.
Ryan Moore, President of the Peterborough Agricultural Society said, “Our Board continues to work to find the right mix of entertainment that will appeal to the community. We’re happy to see that our efforts are having a positive impact.”
In 2016 the Peterborough Ex released a new strategic plan and has since added new features such as two rodeo events, a car show and bringing the Saturday market back to the fairgrounds.
One significant change this year was partnering with a new midway operator Magical Midways, which was identified as a challenge in the 2016 Strategic Plan. The new operator also saw the return of the ferris wheel to the Ex.
“We continue to look for innovative partnerships to create more engagement between city residents and farmers,” states Moore. “Our Board is eager to build on the success to begin planning for next year, our 175th anniversary.”
In its’ 174th year, the Peterborough Ex is organized by volunteers to highlight agriculture in the region. The four day event ran from August 8 to 11, 2019 and featured agricultural exhibits, homecraft, a rodeo, car show, comedy shows and midway.
