At their Appreciation Night and Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, the Peterborough Agricultural Society recognized a number of contributors.

The Lifetime Member Award was presented to Earl Cochrane of Cavan Monaghan. Cochrane is a two-time President of the Peterborough Agricultural Society and has been involved with the Peterborough Ex since the 70’s when he first became a Director. He and his wife Brenda along with his daughters and grandchildren exhibit Commercial Horses across Ontario.

“The Peterborough Exhibition was something special for the Cochrane Family where my father exhibited in the 1950’s and we have continued ever since. Our grandchildren are the fifth generation to show at this fair,” said Cochrane.

Don & Joanne Heath, Woodstock – Started showing and Hackney Ponies at the Ex in the 1970’s, now shows Road Horses

Harold Ingram, Campbellford – Commercial Horse exhibitor for more than 20 years

Murray Matchett, Peterborough – Goat exhibitor

Earl & Joan Durward & Family, Sunderland – Commercial Horse exhibitor

Bill & Sylvia Jackson, Caledon – Beef exhibitor
