Peterborough, ON – On Thursday, August 9th, the Annual Beef Show was held at the Peterborough Exhibition. Roughly 180 cattle from across the region were shown at the day-long event.

Top winners were:

4H Champion Show Person and recipient of the Lorne Pimmett Memorial Cup – Katie Elmhirst
Reserve Champion Showman – Jessica Bryant
Supreme Male – Premier Livestock
Supreme Female – Indian River Cattle Company

“The Masterfeeds Road to the Royal started at the Peterborough Ex with the Supreme Champions receiving their invitations to the Royal Supreme competition,” says Helen Burgomaster, show Chair, and Peterborough Agricultural Society Board Member. “I would like to thank all the volunteers and our Judges Ashley McNiven and Mark Phillips who are instrumental in the shows’ success.”

The Peterborough Ex’s Beef show is a show where breeders can earn points. Many of the exhibitors are earning points so they can move on to the Royal Winter Fair in the Fall.

In its’ 173rd year, the Peterborough Ag Society holds one of Canada’s longest running exhibitions. The Peterborough Ex continues through until Sunday, August 12th, 2018 and features agricultural exhibits and live entertainment throughout the weekend. Admission passes for all four days are $10 per person, children under five are free.
